Description
These Venum Contender 1.5 XT junior gloves have a faux-leather outer, multi-density foam padding and an attached thumb. The linked version is 8 oz in white and blue.
Fastening and hand fit
A wide hook-and-loop strap closes around the wrist and allows the cuff to open for putting the gloves on. When fitting them, check that the strap has enough overlap to hold securely and that the glove does not turn around the child’s hand.
The 8 oz weight should match what the child’s coach asks for. It is not a size guarantee or an age recommendation, so try the pair with the wraps or inner gloves they will wear in class. Ask the child to make a relaxed fist and describe any pressure around the thumb or fingertips.
Care between classes
Wipe the outside after training and leave the cuffs open to dry the lining. Keep damp wraps out of the gloves, and check the seams and wrist fastening as the pair gets more use.
